I was only an occasional watcher of the club in that era but always saw that darker blue as Hammam's idea, probably to try and make the team look more intimidating (he always flirted with similar ideas with Cardiff way before Tan's actual rebrand).

Perhaps it's too closely aligned with him while also not the club's traditional shade.

Red shorts and socks too. Considering it seems they are playing up the Welsh element, given that our only two Welsh players sported the kit in the photoshoot, I'm disappointed they didn't add little bits of green, or perhaps they could have sublimated a swan breathing fire...

A couple of late entries from the SPL, which I'll rate on the Patrick Thistle scale -

St Mirren change: Outstanding (for the shirt at least)
          https://twitter.com/saintmirrenfc/status/1547901540450516996

Dundee Utd. 1st: It's a retro kit to commemorate 40 years since their only league title win. A solid effort, but the Macron logos on the sleeves (particularly on the long sleeve jersey) almost ruin it completely. Love the old style DUFC crest.

St. Johnstone change: An abomination & relegation kit combined. An absolute horror show, and what is that down the front?
*EDIT* I've seen it suggested that it's the scales of a salmon from the River Tay. If so, why isn't the kit pink? They look like Ariel the little mermaid.
And we'll not even go into the hashtag.

Based on Mrs Thistle's hair dye it's more of an amethyst

In future we can shorten it to "The PT Scale"

Every single reply on the St Johnstone twitter loves that shirt. It's the type of thing that will sell tons.

That St.Johnstone away kit is the perfect opportunity for me to expand OTF's vocabulary of Scottish words.

I remember that being used in Birmingham when I was a kid.

That's very nice, especially the dual colour adidas stripes.

I like that, though I guarantee that the collar and sleeve ends will offend some people.

That trim is a real plus for me.

I rather suspect that all the publicity photos featuring Nick Pope, Wayne Hennessey, Maxwell Cornet and Nathan Collins are being hurriedly reshot.

Was sold a guardian this morning by a teen in a scribbled stripe Dundee FC macron shirt, this season's away, I guess.

Once I told him who I support we had a jolly chat about how the fuck we were in Annan supporting Dundee teams (he had family connections to Bobby Geddes). But the scribbles don't look any better in the flesh. Or the polyester.

                                              I think we covered the scribbled Argentina Dundee change shirt a little while back in the thread. I sort of like it ;

Similar to the classic Cup Winners Cup shirt (also adidas), though the shield is rather superfluous.

That is the sort of forced grin of someone whose pet has been taken hostage to ensure he goes through with the photoshoot.
