The only diplomatic post Sanders would have gotten in an HRC administration was Ambassador to the Caliphate and that would have been dependent on them agreeing to hold him in captivity for the duration.

Michael Moore in his recent Trump film showed Michigan Democrat activists and voters who abstained in disgust because their constituencies voting for Sanders were rigged to be votes for Hillary at the primary

I did it on my phone and realised after that I was responding to ad hoc (?) on previous page: basically some evidence that Sanders being manoeuvred out DID cost Hillary normally guaranteed votes. And activists.
Its clearly explained/shown in the film- counties that voted Sanders by a mile were declared as Hillary at the Michigan primary

So the claim is that votes were misreported?
Sanders won the primary.
Or is it just that early projections were wrong? That would make more sense, as they are heavily dependent on polling and all the pollls had HRC winning (largely because they were way off on turnout and the demographics of those voting).

After his son testified about repeatedly warning his father against hiring the crooked "absentee ballot specialist" and his lawyer apologised for failing to produce important evidence, the GOP "winner" in North Carolina's 9th District is now calling for a new election.

Here's an interesting (if that's your thing) piece from 538 about the Sanders voters who didn't vote for Clinton
It turns out that about 25% of Sanders voters didn't vote for Clinton in the general. 12% went for Trump, as mentioned by Ursus upthread, and the rest either didn't vote, voted for Stein, or voted for Johnson.
Silver doesn't mention a couple of points that I've spotted that might be relevant to our discussion:
- It looks like a lot of these voters are not "Bernie Bros" at all. A good chunk were Republicans who didn't have a primary to vote in, a good chunk are relatively conservative. In other words, they aren't the shouty lefties on the internet. They just voted for Bernie by default in the primaries and caucuses. The vocal Bernie-Trumpers may not be meaningful Democratic constituents at all and might never have expected to vote for anyone but the Republican in a general
- There seem to be fewer than average of these voters in those swing states (PA, MN, WI, MI), so they may have been less of a factor in swinging the election than has been suggested.

To be slightly fair to him, he doesn't mention it because he's talking about the impact on the upcoming primary rather than relitigating a 2 year old election.
It suggests that at least 25% of Bernie's voters are not necessarily going to vote for him this time around because they were only focused on trying to get rid of Hillary. I'm not sure it's a particularly useful guide, given that there are so many other factors involved in this primary, but it is helpful to remember that the Sanders 2016 voters aren't all loyal to Sanders himself when creating expectations for next year,

Fuck Dianne Feinstein. She's 85, she doesn't care how we are destroying the planet

Republicans being able to vote in Democrat primaries is rather disconcerting and would tend to push results rightwards I'd have thought, even though Bernie in 2016 got some GOP voters who were reflexively anti-Clinton.
Feinstein also bothers me in that there are a lot of Dreamers in California who depend on her going into bat for them. Can she be primaried anytime soon?Last edited by Satchmo Distel; 24-02-2019, 00:30.

Well, it's California so there's automatically a primary. She won the general election by a massive margin against a competent Democrat, in California, which is more depressing. It tells you that even here people just vote for the person that's in office, no matter how odious.
