                    I’ve yet to feature the wonderfully inventive, Berlin-based Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra on the thread, so here are three tracks to remedy that, beginning with ‘Milky Way Fables’ from their 2009 debut album ‘Take Off!’, featuring composer, arranger and band-leader Daniel Glatzel on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, Johannes Schliermacher baritone/tenor saxophones, Aki Sebastian Ruhl trumpet, Gerhard Gschlossi trombone, Sebastian Hagele bassoon, Oliver Roth flute, Laure Mourot flute, Karl Refseth vibraphone, Anna Viechtl harp, Andi Waelti bass, Andi Haberi drums, Josa Gerhard, Matthew Lonson and Mokkapan Phongphit violins, Johannes Pennetdorfer and Martin Stupka violas, and Charlotte Jacks and Isabelle Klemt cellos.

                          Straddling the border between prog and jazz, this is ‘Chasing The Hidden’ from the 2021 album ‘Arrival Of The New Elders’ by Norwegian trio Elephant9 – Stale Storlokken keyboards, Nikolai Haengsle bass/guitar and Torstein Lofthus drums/percussion.

                            Another Scandinavian trio, and this one is something of a supergroup – Rymden featuring Norwegian keyboard-player and nu-jazz pioneer Bugge Wesseltoft with Swedish pair, bassist Dan Berglund and drummer Magnus Ostrom, from the ill-fated Esbjorn Svensson Trio (EST). This is ‘Pitter Patter’ from their 2018 debut album ‘Reflections And Odysseys’.
