And while McEnany was crowing about it on Hannity

It was only a matter of time before the racist campaign to throw out a city's entire votes produced this confrontation followed by climbdown, but it was good to see it play out in the space of one night rather than being dragged through the courts for a week. Has anyone documented the precise moment when the two Michigan idiots realized the gambit could not work. Was it the volume of outrage on Zoom or a call from senior Michigan GOP?

            Too soon to tell.

My guess is that the exposure of one of the pair as a committed Facebook bigot who never saw a racist Obama meme he couldn't refrain from sharing also played a role.

I think I am going to become a $2000 an hour lawyer.

“In the plaintiffs’ counties, they were denied the opportunity to have an unobstructed observation and ensure opacity,” Giuliani said. “I’m not quite sure I know what opacity means. It probably means you can see, right?”

“It means you can’t,” said U.S. District Judge Matthew Brann.

“Big words, your honor,” Giuliani said.

Any bets on Trump ponying up the $7.9 million required to recount Wisconsin today? Hard 'no' here.

Sheldon's pissed a lot of money down this particular rat hole already, hasn't he? Any chance he'll live another election cycle?

                      Reportedly a quarter billion, yeah.

The twunts tend to live long lives and die in their beds, unfortunately.

I had thought he was particularly ill, but perhaps that's wishful thinking.

Is he struggling miserably for cash because the casino business has been fucked by covid, or did the bastard divest?

He is still richer than God. He just seems a bit less willing to light money on fire.

They have filed for a recount in Milwaukee and Dane (Madison), which only costs them USD 3 million

Biden stopping Democrats from putting a little bit of pressure on the Emily Murphy, the GSA administrator who is refusing to let the transition happen, doesn't make me think I was being unnecessarily pessimistic about what his presidency will actually accomplish

Totally - it was the two places Biden won by a huge margin. It is like asking for a recount in Philly. These are not the homes of Trump voters (Milwaukee is the big city, Madison is the home of University of Wisconsin)

I see Obama has done an interview with some interesting comments............

Milwaukee and Dane are also the two counties that contain more than 90 percent of the Black people in the state. Maybe even 95 percent. Wisconsin is very segregated.

They aren't even trying to hide the racism underlying their actions, as they increasingly see it as a motivating tool for their "base".

I don't know if I agree with that. Subpoenaing her just gives the Republicans a platform to grandstand, doesn't it? I don't see how it's going to change her mind to ride this off a cliff.

It's worth reading that CNN link within the article. It's a pretty balanced look at Murphy as a person and the position she's in.

Obama is on BBC talking to David Olusoga now. I'll need to catch up as I only caught the last couple of minutes.
Looks like Obama is peddling a new book.

At least we know what he has been up to whilst being in hiding for most of the last 4 years.
Do people still buy and read him and his wife's nonsense.

The $65 million advance would have you believe so.

Still probably writing faster than George RR Martin.

I'm sure the timing of it's release, soon after Trump's defeat, is no coincidence. Presumably they would have had a plan for when to put it out after a Trump victory as well, but likely not in the immediate aftermath.
