F1 style clips from team DS to riders on the world feed

That would be a major improvement to coverage of the sport overall

AVV has been fighting her bike all day and is now off the front with a wonky chain

She has long been the most "no filter" professional cyclist in the world, and that was a classic.

The gravel.is incredibly dry and dusty.

AVV's recovery from her intestinal issues continues apace

Mavi Garcia ia having a horrific day, having just gone down after clipping her own team car.

Wiebes is just too strong at the moment and is nailed on to win any sprint she is able to contest

I feel we should not overlook that Cofidis came quite close to winning the stage.

In more parochial news, the chancer bloke who bought some of Welcome to Yorkshire's assets has accepted that the Tour de Yorkshire isn't going to return as a stage race following fruitless discussions with ASO, so now he's looking at a one day race organised by Sweetspot, which is very much coming full circle. Sweetspot's mind will be blown when they come and look at the area judging by their definition of some of the "hills" on the Tour of Britain route.

Victoire Bertau certainly gave her all for nominative determinism and should have a red number for her efforts tomorrow.

Wiebes and Kooecky are today's high profile crash victims,.though Kooecky has managed to get back while Wiebes is four minutes off the pace.

Vos wins on a rather dangerous final sprint

Longo Borghini and Balsamo came incredibly close to taking each other out a full speed

One thing I've noticed about this is that unlike the men's race they don't resurface the roads for this, so you get bumpy surfaces like they had when they came off that late descent. Good to see Vos increase her lead, though suspect she'll lose yellow tomorrow.

As they go up the second major climb of three, AVV and Vollering have 2'15" on Longp Borghini, more than 4 minutes on anyone else and almost 9 minutes on Vos. Wiebes has abandoned following her crash yesterday.

Vollering cracks 800 metres from the summit

This is absolutely brutal from AVV

AVV not quite opening up on the downhill. Don't think Borghini can keep away from the group (call them the top 10 group?) behind her.

Sounded like Persico actually did get penalized for the sprint yesterday, but it came quite late.
