Eight down. Tremendous match. Fair play to NCN, he averages under 20 (or at least for now).

Extras make up a tenth of the score for Australia.

Best catch I've ever seen live, that was.

Can Gayle go for the review hat trick?

Arse. They were going to get him eventually.

Gayle out now, but has joined the Thousand Club for the World Cup.

Does the current run rate vs required run rate really reveal much? It all depends on who is left in the batting order, right?

Very much depends who's left, how many are left, and how long is left. It's a little representative - if you're only able to score at 3 an over early, then it's less likely that you're going to be able to accelerate to 10 an over. But it's a very crude stat.

To a certain extent certainly, but accomplished batsmen ate also able to bat at different rates (it essentially being a risk/reward calculus). Bowlers also have a significant impact, as does the condition of the ball and the pitch (though less so for the latter in shorter forms of the game)

The CRR and RRR are purely mathematical. The CRR is the number of runs you have scored divided by the number of overs you've faced. The RRR is the number of runs left to the winning line divided by the number of overs left to face.

So they show if your scoring rate needs to change from what you've been doing to what you have to get in order to win. But how achievable the RRR is, however, does depend on the batters you've still got available. (Edit - and the pitch, and the bowling, etc, as ursus notes.) The RRR is sometimes referred to as the 'asking rate' as well, in case you hear that term used.

What is the record for decisions overturned after reviews in one innings of an ODI?
