I couldn’t see this thread before as I have Nef blocked. She was wonderful. The tribute thread he’s quoted is from my downstairs neighbour, who was very close to her (she was around here just a few weeks ago, apparently). He is very upset and has posted about little else since her passing.

    Small world etc.

I had a little Twitter exchange with Dawn a few weeks ago when she posted about her fear going for epilepsy tests. I said how scared I’d been when having them and she said it was comforting to know it wasn’t just her.

    Fucking hell.

The brilliant articles aside, she was very quick and witty on Twitter. That sounds like a really shit compliment but it isn’t, it’s just that everyone’s said all there is to say about her Proper Writing.

My lovely neighbour is taking delivery of her book collection this week, and a number of them will go to Housman’s in King’s Cross, on a special Dawn Foster Trolley. The money raised will go towards something worthwhile in her name. Although a book trolley in your name is pretty cool in itself.

It happens to be the thing that my mother chose as a memento of her 20 plus years on the board of the town library
