If we're having 'forgot to post then x-x' scores (personally I wouldn't allow it, but I'm just sad that way), I'll have all 1-0 home wins.
Thanks as ever Sean. Just aiming to finish above those people who usually beat me in Xpert 11, really....

I think Sporting has a point, though. The game requires a certain commitment, which is being arsed to log in once a week and twice at Christmas and predict ten football results. Those who do bother should have an advantage over those who don't.
If you know you that you are going to be away for any rounds then, as I have offered previously, you can arrange to contact me by text. As a result I believe the only fair decision with regard to allowing default scores is that you need to post that week if you want to use your default score like Guy does, but when you fail to post then the response has to be a resounding

This is a fair comment, I think. The past agreement with Guy had never really been a bone of contention because firstly he was the only one and secondly... how can I put this politely... he didn't tend to be troubling the top half of the table, so I just went along with it.

I heartily agree with the general conclusion above. I only managed to win last year because I bloody well posted every week. The years I've been nonchalant I finished nowhere. And every post puts the competition back at the top of the thread list.
The main thing that maintains an interest in this quirky, sedate otf competition and also justifies Sean's diligent stewardship is that you know the other taciturn bastards actually care about the competition as much as you do.
And that we're generally wise old gits who actually know a bit about football, and care a bit about the football league and non - league.
If you win this, you haven't just beaten a load of algorithm gorging spotty oiks like in other competitions.
Oh well, I've done me pep talk as a responsible champion. Challenge me and die, earthlings.
Here's to another year, and good luck everybody. And thanks again, Sean.

Three S's at the top with Sporting leading after the first round with the top score of 12, Sits one behind in second and Stobart third along with Guy Profumo who picked up the three point bonus.Last edited by Sean of the Shed; 04-08-2019, 05:22.
