I have only just seen this picture from Dalymount. It almost looks like a Photoshop. Can't decide if it is that or the standard of the photography in the 50s.

If you fancy a Where's Wally type game there is (at least) one woman in the crowd

Wonder how many active G.A.A players were in that picture?
To explain, in the 1950s the G.A.A were in the height of what was known as "the ban" which meant that members weren't allowed to play or support Foreign Games, that is mainly Soccer and Rugby, but also Cricket and Hockey (Baseball was played in Croke park in the 40s but that was obviously a different type of Foreign).
One way around it was to become an official snitch, which let you go to games to expose traitors, as you can imagine half the G.A.A signed up for this, but never saw a single member at the games.
This total farce was abandoned in 1970.
I think that's Alan Kelly senior, his son's currently Everton's goalkeeping coach.

If you click on the Twitter link you'll see a reply exposing the Photoshopping. The original picture is spectacular enough (the keeper's head is level with the top fo the stand, it's sky from there up). Can anyone explain why someone would feel the need to photshop an extra chunk of crowd onto such a fabulous photo? I just don't get it.
