I'm about to move to Greenwich so I've found this thread quite useful.

It's an easy place to get to.

Not sure about 'easy', but lots of alternatives.

GO obviously misunderstood my correct use of the verb "to taxi"

I have concluded from this thread that if I am staying in Greenwich I should fly into City Airport, even if it means changing planes in Rotterdam or Zurich or somewhere.

                  Or wait for Crossrail

Even for Canary Wharf, London City is a major improvement on Heathrow, particularly during rush hours.

Only problem is, flights to most places that aren't major business destinations are pretty infrequent, so you have to be flexible about your timing. The last few trips I've tried to do out of City have ended up going via Gatwick instead because the LCY flights were too expensive or too late in the day.

Last leg of the journey. DLR to Cutty Sark.

DLR stations don't do that standard tube thing of saying westbound eastbound etc, which means if you're not familiar with East /South East London you have to locate a map to work out what station is at the end of the line.

Plus you have to know that you have to tap your oyster card before you get to the platform

That's true GY, but I still struggle with the idea that people go to Canary Wharf other than to meet with bankers and or lawyers.

That aspect of the DLR signage is also an annoyance on much of the NY subway and lots of US highways.

The success of this thread suggests you all need a new challenge. How about the fastest route from Hobbes's house to GO's. Without consulting a map or any form of TFL guide.

                                      Drive to GO's.

If they live more than a quarter of a mile from a station at either end, it probably involves a bicycle.
