The reason for today’s failure in the Brexit talks is the grubby deal the Tories did with the DUP after the election. Each passing day provides further evidence that @Theresa_May’s Government is completely ill-equipped to negotiate a successful deal for our country.
I really wouldn't rule out the Tories listening to their business supporters and softening considerably. They'll ridicule your vagueness, they'll ask the public if they believe you'd have negotiated "tougher", and put that £3bn of Hard Brexit preparation to use on something popular.

I know I always say this, but he doesn't want to be waiting too much longer with going for Soft Brexit properly.

Just caught Arlene’s statement from some High school gym hall* or whatever. Scumbag, scum of the Earth, her worth is nil. Did I mention the DUP are scum sucking maggots? I’d better stop before I type something I regret about buses in the long long ago. The fuckers are loving this, Trumpy style culture wars plus extra papery hatery. Standing up to Remoaners and Taigs. Burning your own future down for no rational reason but No Passports! on the Cairnryan ferry. Fuck em.

Hurry up and betray the fuck out of them, Tory bastards. Spit in their Loyal eye like it ain’t no thing, it’s what you do best. RTE totally pessimistic on any chance of movement before Christmas. And May didn’t even brief the DUP before flying to Brussels! Amateurs, amateurs, you’re wasting our time.

*ahem, Stormont. Going blind over here. Mistook the marble staircase for wooden monkey bars. How the fuck is FM in absentia still posing in her big Castle?

If Nissan weren't promised Soft Brexit, what were they told last year? That's never really fitted with the kamikaze no deal stuff.

Disagree. best to wait until the tories fall. Firstly never good to count chickens. Secondly the Tories can only destroy themselves further over brexit and have nothing positive to offer around housing, wages, welfare and education. Let them stew.

Apparently the DUP had sight of the wording throughout. So who tried to pull a fast one? May? DUP? hard line brexiteers using DUP?

DUP and Tory Chief whips meeting now.

Is that how May's voters will see it? Won't they see it as some funny NI people they'd barely heard of fucking a deal up?

Agree to disagree on first bit.

Interesting that everyone had seen it. Curiouser and curiouser.

What was in the Nissan deal, if not a Soft Brexit? We can believe Tory Cabinet Ministers are stupid, but not Nissan executives armed with management accounts showing car components crossing borders.

Something about driverless cars? Why would they rely on that?

The DUP have all the power. With a bit of luck they can become a figure of hate and derision based on knowledge of how cuntish they are, rather than condescending derision apparently based on the belief the Duppers are rational actors when it comes to The South (the amount of times some smug commentator Sensible cunt said Of Course the DUP want a soft border with Ireland- ya Tom Holland following wankers).

But the DUP are the political wing of the Hard as Nails Brexit press, and recipients of some very dodgy money during the Brexit ref. If the Murdochs and Rothemeres place the blame anywhere it’ll be on Craven May. She is the new Chamberlain, dontcha know? And she couldn’t even squirrel up her piece of paper.

Just leaves some posh lovable eccentric egomaniac racist to appear in Our Darkest Hour.

                      Second time as farce.

It's not just the DUP. Duncan Smith and Rees Mogg (double barrelled bastards) both stand with Arlene.

Exactly. I'd be not be mentioning the DUP at all. The problem with that deal was other Tories. Rosindell is another, and plenty more.

Tory voters though don't care about Northern Ireland, even symbolically.

Naomi O Leary "the DUP has no mandate to demand a hard Brexit, either for Northern Ireland or for the rest of the UK.
Its position is also inconsistent, since it is perfectly fine with divergence from Britain on the issues that suit it, like same sex marriage and abortion."

There was a people border in the sea for the whole of Ireland more than once in post-war pre Maastricht Little Island.

They are as Special and Divergent as fuck when they want to be. Which pretty much comes down to playing to their Fundie base. Social Issues.* Wonder how much of their lives outside haranguing teh Gays meets the tenents of Leviticus? Arlene for one looks like she’d have a bacon black pudding milkshake in Nordie Eddie Rockets.

*to be fair they got their way on Air Passenger Duty, and bleating they had to mirror Ireland to compete was getting them concessions on Corporation Tax. Oh the bitter irony.

If the DUP end up pissing away £1bn for Northern Ireland, how will that go down?

Didn't an opinion poll the other day back moving the Customs Border to the sea?

but those Tories know that they the only choice is to call an election that they will likely lose. I think Nobody like being bossed around by small minded bigots. It's certainly not going to play well in austerity britain that may bribed the DUP with a billion muc needed quid and didn't even get anything for it

Aye, no Prod revulsion at a sea border in the Slugger O’Toole poll. Except among the DUP/TUV base of eejitry. Playing to the big drum base.

Neither IDS nor the DUP are going to put Corbyn in.

I assume the £1bn finds its way into "Philip Hammond's war chest" if the DUP desert.

Yeah. Is there anybody who can capitalize on it? The UUP tried a sane looking leader and bombed.

Alliance? Can’t see it beyond pockets of middle classes fed up with holding their noses and voting for a repugnant party just cos they are Prods by birth/Unionists. People Before Profit are Lexit fannies of course (beyond the awkward matter of their Trotskyist front ultimately being under the wing of the rapey wing of micro socialism whose policy is for a united Ireland as part of a socialist UK (ffs)), so no use looking to them reaching across the Peace Walls and getting the urban WC vote in the name of soggy Brexit. Even if they hadn’t tanked in the May election.

How the fuck can’t anyone pronounce Varadkar? Huw Edwards now. It’s pretty much phonetic, Hindi names are way easier than full on Irish You Got The Vowels Wrong complexity.
