I keep wondering if there's some Bannon-esque half thought out, ill considered plan to deliberately populate government with the most utterly inept and corrupt people. With the theoretical end-goal being to destroy trust in government completely when everyone in the cabinet is on the take.

I think that there is a bit of this, but there is also a very strong overlap between amoral grifting millionaires and Trump cronies.

You know how politicians inveigh against fancy metropolitan elite places? I think I saw the funniest example ever yesterday. The Republican candidate in Ohio 12 went after "Franklin County", which contains Columbus. Big chunk of Franklin County is in Ohio 12.

Nonetheless he looks like he'll win. But I think the district might be trending away from him, as people sell their Manhattan loft appartments and move to Franklin County.
