    The Elizabeth Line

Deptford's got a few good pubs.

Anyway, I suppose we should be grateful they haven't flogged the line name to Emirates or Arcelor Mittal.

No doubt it connects with Pile of Wank at some point.

It doesn't go that far from Orients ground.

            No, I like the colour.
It's alright as a line colour in its own right, but it's weird to have two purple lines, no?

I can't think of anything I'd less want named after me than a tube or rail line in London. Within moments of opening it will be crowded, dirty, subject to huge delays and decried by all who have to use it.

It has indeed. Not that I ever go to any, because I live in that there Blackheath*, innit?

They've used up primary and secondary colours though, so we're into tertiaries. The Metropolitan has the magenta/lilac end of purple, while Elizabeth gets the cooler violet end.

Cricket commentators compete to be first to say "(s)he played down the Elizabeth".

Nearly 20 years ago it would have been the Diana Line, and woe betide anyone who dared to demur. Things change, he concludes, profoundly.

Victoria Line was named after the station rather than the monarch.

Seems a bit much naming an underground line after her, I mean, soon enough she'll be underground anyway.

We should call it the "Fawning, Toadying, Bowing and Scraping" line.

And the station wasn't named after the monarch either, it was so named because it was on Victoria Street.
