The one, solitary, minor downside is people seeking out an opinion on this matter from that harridan Bernadette Smyth.

She's head of a pro-life group called Precious Life who harass women and staff at Marie Stopes clinics.

              Sorry.

I meant "Who are the people seeking her opinion?"

The media. I notice she is quoted on the BBC report as a starter.

                  "Starter"?

Is this more opaque political slang to describe one particular sub-set of the anti-choice brigade?

More to the point, the Janus nature of SF is once again exposed, calling for a Southern referendum, but in no hurry to breach the Northern consensus on the issue.

Bloody right. If they want their own medieval laws, there is a country quite close that they can join up with.

Northern Irish abortion law as it stood before this ruling was somewhere on a par with Argentine abortion law. Argentina's had a female president for the last eight years, remember. She's against legalising abortion.

The incoming president's government will include one chap who believes contraception and abortion are the root causes of bad morals and AIDS. Last I heard he was being touted as health secretary.

They've a way to go to match Cristina's achievements, but soon both the big two parties in NI will have female leaders: Arlene Foster and Mary Lou McDonald.

Don't expect any sudden lurches towards anything progressive, particularly from La Foster. On Fat Boy Nolan's show recently she threw a hissy fit when he asked if she'd attend one of her children's (notional) gay wedding.

I see a friend of mine is one of their qc's.. They should just agree with her now, because they're going to wind up agreeing with her eventually, and it will save time.

So Abortion and Gay marriage to be legislated for by Big Govt if Eyebrows and Michelle can't get a concord on by October. Fun times.
