News agencies reporting that Saudi Air Force attempted to intercept an aid flight earlier today, and when the plane refused to divert, The Saudis bombed the runway in Sanaa. This means now that no aid flights can land in Sanaa, and the flight that my organisation planned tonight to evacuate 142 foreign nationals stuck in Yemen is now unable to depart, with no way out and an increasing humanitarian crisis looming.
Guardian report here.
The flight that was chased across airspace was an International Red Cross flight. I have serious concerns that this is going to get much, much worse, especially if this turns into a proxy war in Yemen (there are some reports that it is already that).
