Traditionally, in britain at least, a stork is said to have delivered you when you were born. But what do other cultures use? Are people delivered or protected by other animals or birds at birth?

I think the stork myth is originally a mitteleuropean thing. Storks are the delivery mechanism over here too - and unlike Britain we actually have storks. -
