    UKIP's actual specific policy proposals

    Trouble at UKIP apparently.

Tim Aker has been sacked for not finishing their policy document on time. Surely all that common sense should be easy to write down.

Here you go. UKIP's policies are to "work for hard-working, law-abiding citizens"

        http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-30911005

He said: "Labour Party members across our region are simply realising that the incredibly wealthy individuals who sit at the top of the Labour Party don't, and make no attempt to, work for hard-working, law-abiding citizens across the country.

"Only UKIP are offering a sensible, credible alternative to the Labour Party who have neglected the North East for years."

            http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jan/21/benefit-claimants-cars-buses-ukip-leaflet

A Ukip-branded leaflet has suggested benefit claimants should be banned from driving on UK roads to ease congestion.

The document, which appears to have been sent out by the campaign of Lynton Yates, the Ukip candidate for Charnwood in Leicestershire, asks why claimants “have the privilege to spend the taxpayer’s hard-earned money on a car” and suggests they instead “catch a bus”.
Sadly. They don't seem to have the desire to include this eminently "Common Sense Policy for Common Sense People" in their manifesto.

I must admit, that is more closely aligned to my own intellectual level.

                          UKIP's actual specific policy proposals

They were kind enough to actually stick their manifesto ("Polices for People") though my door this morning, so it would be unfair not to update the thread with its contents.

                          "Protecting Jobs and increasing prosperity

We would review all legislation and regualtions from the EU (3,600 new laws since 2010) and remove those which hamper British ... competitiveness"

                          "Repairing the UK econonomy

UKIP will increase the [personal tax allowance] to the level of full-time minimum wage earnings (approx £13,500).
                          Inheritance tax will be abolished.
We will introduce a 35p tax rate between £42,285 and £55,000".

"Reducing debts we leave to our grandchildren

We will leave the EU and save at least £8bn a year in net contributions.

We will cut the foreign aid budget by £9bn a year

We will abolish the Department of Energy and Climate Change, and the Department for Culture Media and Sport."

It goes on, in the areas of NHS, Transport, Law and Order (oh yeah, we'd withdraw from the EC of Human Rights) and Education, but those are the ones they obviously want wanted me to read first, as they were the front page ones.

What do we reckon then? To be fair, they've a) got in first and b) said what they're going to do, which is more than I expect from any of the other lot.

Why do we have to be fair?

To be fair they have candidates / counsellors / representatives who have blamed the gays for bad weather, suggested all babies with Downs' Syndrome be aborted, and suggested no one in their right mind would want to live next door to Romanians.

They're a one-policy, wedge issue party, now masquerading as national party. I hope their rise as well as the rise of other parties helps in making our two main parties become more representative of their voters.

He is thought to be the first British leader to speak at the event, where he has been given star billing between Palin’s speech and a reception held by the National Rifle Association gun lobby.
