No longer thinking, fast or slow

Daniel Kahneman has died. One of those experts (in his case psychology) who combined genuinely eye-opening thinking with a gift for explaining it to the layperson. A holocaust survivor and committed opponent of the occupation (because, he said, he remembered being a boy in occupied France and seeing German flags and writing everywhere). Thinking, Fast and Slow has been a really important work for many people (me included). RIP

That is sad news. MrB uses stuff from Thinking Fast and Slow a lot in his courses.

RIP indeed. I really enjoyed TFAS. Very glad to learn that he was a committed opponent of the occupation.

So the obit in the Times of Israel will probably describe him as a "Self-hating Jew".
