Famous People Who Initially Hid Their Professions From Their Families

Two cases I've read about in the last few days:

    1) Otis Redding didn't tell his dad he was singing in clubs (probably not a unique occurence in R&B)
    2) Mickey Duff didn't tell his dad (a Polish rabbi) he was a boxer

Wasn't there a cast member in the Usual Suspects who hadn't told his parents he was an actor?

Louis Krages used the pseudonym John Winter to prevent his family from finding out he was a racing driver. It worked up until he won the Le Mans 24 hours and his mother saw a picture of him in the newspaper.
