Church buildings in rural communities are usually important facilities for a lot of community functions. Repurposing it might help. Burning it down, especially in the middle of a an epic drought, doesn’t help.
And despite all the atrocities, Indigenous Christianity is its own movement/scene. It’s not just a colonial imposition.
A majority of indigenous Canadians identify as Christians. They are well-aware of the historical issues with that. They don’t need to have it explained to them.
