The Economist endorses Obama. It had a go at supporting Romney, with some of its usual "Ryan asks good questions about the size of government" but saw sense in the end.

They endorsed Obama last time, too, right? We worked with a real estate agent for a while around that election but eventually dropped her because she kept pushing lunatic right-wing politics. Anyway, she told me that she wasn't surprised The Economist endorsed Obama because it was "a socialist magazine," which I found rather amusing.
That's standard from the Republicans. They induce panic among their followers with the specter of "European-style socialism," and I'm always amazed that anybody could be terrified by the Swedish lifestyle.
The G&M has been pretty glossy for years. Maybe they've had to keep up with the N. Post. Most downtown hotels carry it in addition to La Presse (pretty decent french daily, to which I'm subscribed) and the Gazette, whose quality has significantly declined since it got bought up by Canwest a decade ago.
The Ritz renovation has been expectedly disappointing, they've "updated" the main restaurant into a generic upscale modern square beige eatery.
