Sure, fights between brothers are over when the guilty party has apologised. But when that brother then goes on to fuck with your life, then all bets are off. And if there's a chance to throw the asshole under a bus, well, I can understand it.

Good to know that the future king of England is a domestic bully whose adult behaviour has a way of descending to the level of a 14½-year-old when his will is defied.

One of our friends lives in a very complicated domestic arrangement. He is married to a woman and lives with her and their two children, but they also live with his wife's identical twin sister, her husband and their son. So two families and seven people all living under one roof. It's a largeish house but that's too many relationship dynamics under one roof in my opinion. This is complicated still further by the fact that friend's brother-in-law is dying (unlikely to last another six months) so everyone in the household is extremely stressed. This culminated in friend's sister-in-law punching friend in the face on Christmas Day. I don't know why or what happened in the run up to the event, but it's completely unacceptable. This has not been a sustained campaign of domestic abuse as far as I'm aware but my friend absolutely should not have stayed quiet about it.

I also don't know of any adults of my generation who have engaged in a physical fight with their siblings beyond puberty. It's possible they have and have stayed quiet about it, but I'd hope not.

My dad was relatively violent (he once punched George Best, he broke an aggressive stranger's finger in a pub, he headbutted people in his youth). He slapped my legs three times as a child and once, and only once, I saw him pick up my sister in anger and throw her across a room onto a soft double bed. That was four incidents of domestic violence too many. But as far as I'm aware, post-puberty he never had a physical fight with his brother, despite them falling out massively.

It's assault. You can wrap it up in whatever sibling bullshit you like, but it's assault. It's one adult assaulting another adult. Their relationship makes it worse, not better.
Since passing the age of maybe 12 my siblings and I have never raised hands to each other. Wouldn't think of doing so.

Come on, there's a huge difference between a couple of siblings having a fight and (usually prolonged) violent and aggressive controlling behaviour.

Man makes bad choices when young, fights, drinks, takes drugs and has a shit first shag shock.

I think I've talked about Harry and William on here before, when I worked on the same airbase as both of them. So, I won't bore you all again.

And, Sean of the Shed is right. Plenty of ex-military talk about their 'kills' in their books (not all, but some). We've had 'Hooli porn', now we have 'Military porn'.

Did he say sorry? I don't think I saw mention of it , though I wasn't reading closely.

Though obviously a good number of the people getting all indignant about his claims of killing opposition fighters in a war probably can't get through more than half a dozen pages of an Andy McNab book without having to pause for a wank.

This tweet is a joke. At least, I'm pretty sure it's a joke. But it's close enough for an awful lot of people to be taken in by it ...

100% this. The reaction that Hal and Meg get is great. The frothing outrage of the terrible people is an absolute delight. The horrified anger at the non-whiteness of Meghan is brilliant. The eye-bulging anger of the likes of Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson is a wonder to behold.

And yet... every time anything of the two of them gets revealed, they seem desperately light on charm. The fact that Harry has written a "tell all" book with supposedly tantalising scandalous titbits seems to tell me all I need to know about him.

Thanks for that tip. I gave up midway through the first episode. The story of their meeting was like the shittiest Nancy Meyers romantic comedy. "So we agreed to meet at the Soho House..." although she didn't even call it that.

Of course I have no interest in the absurd royal soap opera.

So anyway ... his first shag behind a pub, snorting coke, fraternal fist fights, Nazi hilarity, and even everything you didn't need to know about a circumcised royal penis. Blimey.

But I have no interest in the royal soap opera.

    This.

Mrs AE wanted to watch this, me much less so, but I'm glad I did. I feel there's a lot more to come.

Mrs D and I had pre-arranged that she would watch the series while I was at work as she is more interested in the royals, but due to a mis-communication I ended up arriving home at the beginning of an episode, and I echo all the above. It's an extremely convincing portrayal of their side of the argument, and quite eye-opening the extent to which the establishment side have used the tabloids to fight their battles.
And I was struck by their authenticity as a couple and their obvious love for one another.

I still struggle to be entirely sympathetic to the struggles of two very rich people, but it has raised the amount of shits I give above zero.

I haven't seen the series but I have admired their cojones in taking on the British establishment for some time now.
