A military response would surely not be over before the election, but the jingoism will have faded by then. Returning body-bags and dead children, are not a good look.

Also Trump likes to talk tough, but I suspect he's got no appetite for armed conflict. You can't walk that back once it starts.

P&O have cancelled all their winter cruises to the Gulf. We were going with MSC (Italian not British) but I expect they'll follow suit. Something's about to kick off.
