    Calling OTF Tech Support

The screen on my girlfriend's computer monitor (LG flatron w2261vp) intermittently flickers to a black screen for a few seconds before working normally again. It seems to happen irregularly, but averages out about once every 5 minutes. It doesn't seem to be related to particular programmes or demands. Any idea?

I'm no expert, but I'd be inclined to say it's fucked. Bin it and get a new one.

I'm guessing you've checked that the cables are properly connected?

You could try downloading new graphics card drivers. You could also try replacing the cables, but otherwise I'm with Sean, it's sounding a bit fucked.

I have an old PC that does that, except it only does it once-a-day on average. Does this happen, for example, if you boot into the BIOS? That might show if it's a software or a hardware issue.

You could maybe check if the driver's up-to-date.

Yes, the cables are properly connected.

          Will check the graphics card.

It's possible too that the graphics card is simply loose in its socket and just needs to be reseated. That happened to me once on a previous PC.

I think FF may have nailed it.

              Thanks all.
