I've got a student from Kosovo, he always tells me he's Albanian. When I say that I thought you were from Kosovo he says it's the same thing. I wonder if that's the general case or just him.

This reminds me a lot of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, for many it's interchangeable but recently the separate identities have become stronger due to Erdoğan.
