Surely I am missing a key rule in curling, so please explain this to me. In the current semi final, South Korea lead Japan 7-6 with only one end to go, in which the Koreans get to throw the last stone. So why aren't the Koreans using every single one of their stones to remove the previous Japanese stone (along with their own) from the field? Just keep the track completely empty, and you are sure of the win.

    Is this against the rules?

Is this more difficult than it seems?

Should Wolf be back on the ice after that big blow to the head? There must be a concussion risk.

              Smallcaps,

"Any stationary rock located within the free guard zone may not be removed from play by the opposing team until after the fifth rock of the end has been delivered and all rocks have either come to rest or gone out of play."

Splendid, UA, thank you. That makes sense.

                  That doesn't even make sense

Ray, the international concussion protocol is generally more serious than the NHL rule as applied. He will have been evaluated during the interval.

I presume Squeaky Baum are a teutonic Screaming Trees tribute band?

German player getting all Friar Tuck with his stick there. And his team pays the price!

Generally not, as they are designed to be worn over body armour. Maybe a kid size?

Is it expected that the German players will wilt as the third period wears on? Like a non-league team

They played a strong third against Sweden to get here, but the grind of the schedule may be taking a toll. The Canadians are much more used to playing four or five games a week.

                                They need to avoid penalties.

                                Like that one.

And Canada would have had a man advantage if it wasn’t for the petulant slash.

Parking the bus is much harder in hockey, but they are trying.

They weren't given any chance to beat Sweden or Canada.
