I do feel for Anderson though. Playing for a team that basically depends on you saving 98% of shots on you he made it through a crazy barrage over seven games and *so* nearly managed to (somehow) get them over the line.
Both teams have to feel good coming out of this. Preds still need a split and proved they can score and come back from a massive hole, Pens survived the massive comeback.
Is Salomäki getting much / any time on the ice? We haven't heard much about him since he left us some seasons back. I'll be rooting for the Predators thanks to the local connections. Rinne's also from near here.
8 minutes a game in the playoffs, which isn't bad for a player who only played five matches for the big club during the regular season.
The league needs to get rid of these offsides reviews. The Pens scored three goals in less time than it took for Toronto to somehow overrule Subban's opener.
Once a pass is made, it shouldn't be reviewable. If it's a pass from the neutral zone or defensive zone that leads to a breakaway, fine, that makes a smidgen of sense. But once a pass is made, much less 4 or 5 passes....especially after the Penguins touched it....it's absolutely idiotic. Beyond idiotic. In many ways it ruined a great game, with that much at stake and that many emotions running.
I fell asleep at 1-0 at the end of the first, then when I turned it on I saw a dark arena and the NBC Sports guys were saying "would you consider a goalie change for tomorrow?," and Mike Milburn replied "No. Not on your life."
My heart sank, realizing Nashville must have got so smashed and humiliated, and they were going to stick with Riine as a way to thank him for a good playoffs to that point. Then they showed the party outside.
