I've noticed recently that SI is starting to get its cover mojo back. They still put up some real stinkers, but I saw this in David Simon's blog (which I saw because ad hoc posted a fine essay from him about the election):

David Simon writing about the O's? Andre Lagarde approves. Verducci writing a big profile about an unorthodox manager, and SL Price writing about how RGIII is going to lead the Skins to the promised land?

All I need is advertisements for whiskey, cigarettes and the new Cadillac and I'm going back in time.
