      Another sad loss.
Faithless stood far out above a lot of dross in the mid to late 90s dance scene. The Chemical Brothers apart, they were probably my favourite dance act from that era, and Maxi Jazz's vocals were a key part of that.
Insomnia was probably the best known track, but We Come 1 was my personal favourite.

Now He Can Get Some Sleep

Absolutely amazing act, and 65 is no age at all. Rest easy, big fella.

'Muhammad Ali' for me, but I very much enjoyed all of Outrospective (and more of the singles, but that was the only Faithless album I actually bought). RIP.

Such sad news. “Insomnia” is one of the greatest ever riffs in pop music.

RIP. As has already been said, Insomnia is a belting tune. I always loved how he described it as, "greasy insomnia."

                RIP

Saw them live at the Greenwich dome 10 or so years ago, they were a decent live act and Maxi's charisma and energy were a big part of that.

"God is a DJ"is my favourite Faithless tune/riff, but the poetry of "Insomnia" is memorable.
When I went to see them they closed the bars a couple of minutes prior to "Insomnia", presumably to prevent a stampede if people heard the opening riff from the concourse. And they faded the music down so the crowd could shout out "tearing off tights with my teeth!".

I never liked the tearing of tights lyric and the exhausting mental image it conjures

Think I might find a best of to see if any of it stands up or if I missed anything as there's a fair chance I have.

They were massive at one point weren't they, or did I imagine that?

They were massive for a while. I went through a phase of liking them, and then sorta went off them. I should give them a revisit.
