such sad news. The Twin Peaks theme was a quantum leap in music for television. All the loss and loneliness was in there. Like the Cheers theme, it’s impossible to imagine the programme without it

"Laura Palmer's Theme" is simply superb, especially as it was composed in 20 minutes and recorded in one take, before shooting had started, with David Lynch simply describing a scene for Badalamenti to interpret musically.

And the MIDI notation shows... twin peaks.
