    Old dudes in exotic places...

Inspired by Danny Baker last night, where he was on a quest to find old British footballing names now plying their trade in foreign lands. I know there was the thread about "Become Better, Move Abroad", but this one is a focus on managers.

The show only breifly touched on it, with the obvious inclusion of Peter Reid Thailand job, former Kilmarnock, Hibs & Plymouth man Bobby Williamson now managing the Ugandan football team, and slightly more randomly, the managerial partnership of Colin Clarke and Adrian Whitbread now at Puerto Rico. Alright for some.

I know there is a few in Australia, and probably some knocking about in the States, but I'm putting it to you to find the most random. Which former Shrews star now coaches womens football in the German third tier? There's gotta be some good ones.

(obviously photos of pale 50 something Brits abroad, "coaching" their team from their sunlounger are standard)

If Irish managers can be included, Joe Kinnear as manager of Nepal was mentioned recently.

Terry Yorath was manager of Lebanon for a couple of years in the 90s.

Ian Porterfield (before he died last year) was manager of Armenia. He had managed Oman, Trinidad & Tobago, Zambia and Zimbabwe as well as a couple of clubs in the far East.

Mick Wadsworth somehow managed to follow abject failure at Huddersfield with managing DR Congo in the African Nations Cup and then Beira-Mar in the Portuguese first division.

He managed loads of clubs in Southern Africa and (!) Finland. He's back in the UK now running a B&B I believe.

I did read a funny "I spotted Eddie May at the Racecourse" post online the other day though.

With Bobby Gould as his assistant.

I'm guessing the Eric Gates managing East Timor is not The Eric Lazenby-Gates, as there seems to be no information about it anywhere - it's not even mentioned on his website.

Peter Withe spent ten years as manager of Thailiand and then Indonesia - often these are parachuted into the jobs by the FA, as a favourm, should they ever need the other nation for some reason.

Edit - according to FIFA, the Timor Leste coach is Joao Paulo Pereira.

I got all the info from Wikipedia, to be fair, so it could be just a ravid Ipswich fan living out his dreams...

Who knew Eric Gates would have a website? It's things like that that break my brain...

I don't believe there was a "He came by his own accord." thread.

They're currently bottom of their qualifying group and don't look like they are going to qualify for WC2010.
