I wondered that, but then again it could just be the piece I read in Neal Heard's The Football Shirts Book which also talked about the specialist youth team kit from the same season.
These were the choices Scunny fans were given, so they did choose wisely. Scunthorpe played in red in the 60s and 70s because their traditional claret and blue was deemed to be difficult to see under floodlights.
FBT seem to have been able to produce kits that people generally like, with the exception of the Doncaster Rovers one. They have also made Doncaster RLFC's kits for the last couple of seasons, which have been reasonably well received too.
Are the Scunny shorts white, as per the design people voted on, or sky blue as they appear in the photo above?
They'll probably be blue, the shorts are usually the less dominant colour in the shirt, we have very occasionally had white shorts but they don't really work and can end up causing the kit to clash with both of the opponents' kits. Presumably this is what they mean by "minor design alteration" to the fan voted kit.
