The lads who started The Mag fanzine eventually opened a fine football related emporium in the shadow of SJP which has massive appeal to fans outside of a black & white persuasion. That fans could get to away games for free by standing outside the stadium selling fanzines to the converted doesnt seem a bad deal either.
I've no beef with ALS, and fair play to them for making a living out of what started as a fanzine.

But once you're doing something like this full-time rather than trying to fit it round your day-job, then you have to call yourself a magazine rather than a fanzine, as WSC does.

I have a lot of respect for zine writers and editors who keep the format going in tough times. Newspaper readership is falling and people expect to get their news online or in short bites from social media. Being able to produce a zine with a decent standard of writing on a regular basis is no mean feat..
I just remembered that the Arsenal fanzine, The Arsenal Echo, Echo was put out by Guy Havord in 1987 - the same chap now on Sky Sports.

Three new fanzines available : The Pie - Notts County; Arsenal Echo Echo; The Crooked Spireite - Chesterfield. More to follow in a day or so.

And back to your regular programming.

Order Issue 21 of View From The Allotment End, the rather decent North Ferriby FC fanzine, from the link below, if you fancy one.

            OK - promise not to keep updating every day. New Uploads include : Balls, Off The Ball; The Absolute Game (2 issues); Bring The Noise (Swindon); Blue Print (Man City);

As I mentioned, PM me if you have zines you would scan and would like me to upload, if simply so they can live on in some internet backwater...

I've sent the link to the editor of View From The Allotment End, so hopefully he'll send you some digital copies of the 'zine.

I remember Blueprint well. I think it morphed out of (or amalgamated with) the people who produced ‘Bert Trautmann’s Helmet’ but I could be mistaken. Back when I was involved in the fanzine there were several available at Manchester City. They were selling King of the Kippax outside the Etihad on Saturday and it was already very well established when
we produced ours around 2000. That’s durability and commitment almost on a WSC scale.

That archive site is a great resource by the way, and thanks for linking.

Have fond memories of Absolute Game and have more or less a complete collection stashed away somewhere. Also had the same for OTB & HTB but got shot of them in a domestic upheaval about 30 years ago.

popular STAND fanzine is 25 years old today

When time allows, and I finally locate a copy of issue 36, I'll look to scanning them all.

I have just had the Popular Stand fanzine brought to my attention on social media. Firstly, it’s ceasing to be a physical fanzine, which is sad as fanzines are becoming rarer and rarer.

Secondly, the final editorial was excellent and spoke a lot of my thoughts in a coherent, interesting and succinct manner. I tend to come across a Popular Stand article once in a while and they always seem well written and share my thoughts.

I don’t support Rovers through choice, because how on earth would we land on this of all the options?

                              Ah, cheers Botswana Meat Commission

After over a decade editing it I need to focus on other things sadly, so it just had to be time to draw a line under it, but 25 years is a solid run. It has long felt like it was more appreciated for the quality of its writing by fans of other clubs than Doncaster fans, which I think speaks volumes for how good a bunch of writers I managed to get and keep involved.

Eleven years after we started, the Ipswich fanzine Turnstile Blues' final issue went on sale yesterday. We ran it a bit differently, we ran it as a collective, so that we never had a permanent editor. Quite often the editor of each issue was based on who had the most free time. I've edited some, and done layouts, covers, and the like, and I was only one of two people that wrote for every issue.

It's been fun, but it's also been harder and harder to find new things about. And it still feels the right time to call it a day, even if the feedback from our readers says otherwise. There was a good piece from one of our number about the changes at the club, which made great reference in last months WSC,

                                It's been a blast.
