    Never mind Hull and Newcastle

Green Calx wrote: It's always pure wank when someone has a big emotional farewell party, then comes back a few years later for more of the same. I expect Gerrard to do it for Liverpool within the next 18 months.
    I wouldn't be surprised.

I would. He'll be slower than me in 18 months time.

I honestly think it has. If you'd have told me any time over the past ten years that there wouldn't have been a commemorative thread started yesterday, I'd have poo-pooed you out of hand.

Well, losing your last two games to an aggregate score of 9-2 does cast a bit of a shadow over wanting to dig out the Miracle of Istanbul DVD. Maybe in another 10 years' time.

              Fantastic, isn't it?

We could be suffering through another week of 'GERRARD'S FA CUP FINAL FAREWELL' coverage and instead his career has fizzled out overshadowed by Hull City's relegation and the England cricket team winning a test.

I'm supporting Villa on Saturday just out of gratitude.

hah, there was a bit of a fuss because Steve Finnan didn't return their phone calls. They were wondering if he was dead. It turns out that he's just pottering around london, doing up houses, and not that interested in that sort of thing.
That would be amusing, although I read an interview with him where he said he would have loved to attend but had already booked a holiday.

Emre Can didn't do v well at right-back. Who could have foreseen such a thing though?

I'd add that it was also pretty windy, which helped Stoke, but Mignolet badly at fault for the first two.

Having said that, the shots for 4 of the 5 goals came from the zone that Lucas should've been covering. He was terrible on the day.

Indeed the way Liverpool "played" in the first half, it looked like they were just trying to get rid of Rodgers tbh. He looked absolutely crushed in the post-match presser, which was like a wake.

Apparently, The seasonal changes for Leicester, Burnley and QPR are in relation to the 2013/14 totals of the teams they replaced (Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff respectively).

Good to see that Operation Van Gaal was a success.

(Edit: though operation 'numbering the rows correctly' was an abject failure.)

shouldn't that be "losing your last two games to Crystal Palace and stoke by an aggregate score of 9-2."

Did this on Excel, eh Mumpo ;-)

It's a very interesting table, given that so many teams gained points on last year. It looks like it was Liverpool and Everton giving them all away.

A net loss of 47 points on Merseyside.

Liverpool need not worry too much about Raheem's impending departure, they have just secured signatures on the new contracts of Andre Wisdom and Kolo Toure.
