New WSC with Ronno, Lampo and Adeo on the cover

I've spent about as much time reading the new issue as I have reading this thread. It didn't really grab me - dunno why, maybe I'm just feeling a bit "meh" about the whole football thing, and that will be fixed when we kick off on Saturday.

JB - you seem to have missed Nathan's point, somewhat, though I'm sure he'll be delighted to explain it further for you, should you require.

Not sure, but I had a dream about the former chief exec of AFC Wimbledon the other night.

        Wasn't he chairman?

Fucking chairman, TonTon? What's up with that Mister Lefty-socialist-respect?

At least Andy Walsh has the good grace to go by 'General Manager'.

Chairman AND Chief Exec. Get me. Look, it's not my fault that you lot are just better than us, is it?

I read the season preview thing last night. Really lovely to see WSC ignoring the verminous scum-sucking cunts once again, and also to see so many people mention them as the worst thing.

I'm considering going along to see them at B&H, just so I can boo. I wonder how many home gates around the country are swollen by that sort of thing.

Completely my fault? That's a bit harsh.

SR - I've heard of a fair few who have done just that. The danger, of course, is that you end up watching them win. I couldn't risk that.

I didn't say it was completely your fault. I said it was kind of your fault.

                  Which it is.

                  Kind of.

I'm pleased that WSC is still ignoring Franchise FC in the supplement.

Is it just my imagination, or has WSC's distribution become more far-reaching over the last year? I've bought the last two issues in a bus station in Glasgow and a small newsagents on the outskirts of Reigate respectively - before I've always had to go to big high street places.

And nish's BASF article is ace, btw.

Yeah, I suppose. I see they're still using the terse and slightly incongruous phrase "No questions asked", which has a vague sense of "You ain't seen me, roight?" about it.

I suspect it will be a cold, cold day in hell before WSC get all pre-season laughy-jokey with anyone who pretends to follow that fucking shower.

They should put AFC Wimbledon's pre-season predictions in their place - a bit like how the Rivals network never changed (one of the few decent things they ever did).

Mind you, Wimbledon may be back soon enough anyway...

I've not met anyone who actually knows who writes the season previews for us.

I would've thought someone somewhere would recognize the name.

The season previews seemed a bit more realistic this year. Usually everyone thinks his team will challenge for Europe/make the playoffs/stay up with no problem. It's good to read a few doom mongers.

However the liked/disliked feature is wilfully misunderstood so they like any club giving them six points and dislike any team that beat them twice. In that vein I can say that Man Utd beating Villa something like 14 times in a row has become extremely tedious.

Leeds absolutely pissed the most disliked club for this particular season didn't they.

The most telling bit of the pre-season supplement is the fact that in the entire Football League only one club are tipped to neither go up nor down, whereas in the Premier League six clubs are tipped for neither glory nor pain.

I am, however, somewhat perplexed that Orient are attributed with being influential in Hereford's promotion given that, until last Saturday, we hadn't played them for more than 11 years.

I entirely support the notion that the top part of the PL has become predictable. But even so, it ought to be possible to point this out without resorting to slightly unreasonable comparisons.

Surely it's unfair to compare the PL with 1 champion and 3 down with for instance league one. That league includes 3 up, 4 down and a play-off. Of course there's going to be more clubs with votes when you're asked to cast 168 votes instead of 80.
