    Scottish Football 2011-2012 Season

Just watched the Beeb programme and have to say some heavy hitters were putting the boot right into Craig Whyte. They wouldn't have done that without being very sure of their ground.

If I was a Rangers fan I'd be afraid. Very afraid.

Craig Whyte has left a slew of bankrupt companies behind him and was struck off as a director in 2000. He has some very dodgy associates and it would appear that the independent panel Murray set up to vet buyers werewell aware of the dodgieness. So was Murray but he sold to him regardless.

It would appear that Rangers have been cheating the taxman and therefore all of us for some time. One has to question the validity of trophies won with players they could only afford by stealing the hard earned benefit money from starving Drumchapel children. It is a scandal.

        Scottish Football 2011-2012 Season

I will be glued to Radio Scotland this saturday.

There are a lot of questions to answer here and the first one should be why has noboday dug this stuff up before now? Will anyone dare ask Alasdair what he thinks? Chick will probably pretend that none of this is happening and once the balance tips far enough against Whyte, Traynor will claim that it was he who dragged Whyte out of the drainage pipe and shot him in the head.

As stated above, putting Rangers into liquidation to clear the debt makes sense if Whyte ends up owning the remains. It makes no sense if he ends up with nothing. It would seem that Whyte needs to have paid off the Lloyds £18M to be in position. This blog argues otherwise.

        http://rangerstaxcase.com/

Of course Whyte may have signed up to actually paying it but hasn't yet and won't until it suits him to. Or not to. This seems to be a guy happy to walk away from deals that go against him

But walking away leaving wee wifies and workies owed wages is one thing, walking away having humped Rangers is another. Although so far Murray seems to have managed it.

Exactly that, stepping on wee wifies and workies marks him out as a right bad cunt, fucking up Rangers would indicate a minor swing to the side of right in his moral compass.

There's a fair chance he'll get in anyway. I'm not aware of Walter Smith having undergone an op to remove Chick from his arse when he left Ibrox so any time Wattie goes back so will Chico.

Decent enough game at ice station Broadwood today, Berwick's finishing being a major factor in the final scoreline.
Two superb finishes from the Berwick striker Darren Gribben, the second a lovely strike from the angle of the 18 yard box curled into the top corner is especially worthy of a mention.

If anybody's club is on the lookout for a decent central defender they should take a look at the Clyde lad Declan Gallagher, he was calm and assured with all he done today and it was nice to see a centre back looking to get the ball into feet at almost every opportunity.

Seeing as I slag off Albion's half-time musical offerings I think it's only fair to say that Clyde's was fuckin ace today,Dexy's,Teardrop Explodes,Clash and at the end The Stranglers,I mean 5 goals and all that music just equals happiness.
Potential for Broadwood's days to be numbered (Punk/post punk classics and all) -

Wonder what they'd do with it if this came to fruition? New ground for the Bears once Ibrox is sold to pay the tax bill?

Meanwhile in the Juniors Forfar West End have went into abeyance for the remainder of the season.

Several weeks of variously getting humped 8-0, 5-1 and then not being able to field a team on two occasions resulted in their committee choosing to fall on their sword for the season.

Usual story of promises not delivered and the Machiavellian intrigues of last seasons manager. Unfortunately appears that a decent and trusting committee have been turned over by a couple of cunts and West End won't finish a peace time season for the first time since 1892.

I did help the Bears out by giving them £50 of my easily earned money on Tuesday night for the friendly with Liverpool, although in their current predicament I don't think that'll help too much.

Once they get used to the idea that not all of that £50 is theirs and hand over what's due to the revenue then they may start getting their shit together.

The club's a good size - Tennent's lager and McEwans 70', mid-east satellite channels for the Scotland v Czech game that day. Nowt special but they were welcoming folk and I hope they get it back together.

Interesting that players have had to change their direct debits because of continual late payments, there is obviously no operating capital left at all in Gorgie.

Just away to watch the Newsnight about Rangers, do wonder where the similar analysis of David Murray is.

I hope Stewart Milne is happy to keep Aberdeen going.

The September SFL goal of the month is now online. Highlights include a corner for Queens Park which probably wasn't from the training ground leading to a goal for Kevin Cawley and a rather nicely executed overhead kick from Andy Rodgers.

Mentioned this in the LoI thread, but expect major progress at St. Johnstone, if Paul Cook is appointed as expected - Sligo have become cup specialists under his tenure, while league positions have similarly improved gradually, culminating in their current second place. Furthermore, his knowledge of players such as Cillian Sheridan and Alan Mannus will help his acceptance by the playing squad, which should maintain current form.

Just hope they don't rush to sack Houston and appoint fucking Jefferies or somesuch arse. McInnes no longer an option, of course.

With Firhill about to lose the Warriors, it would not be unthinkable for Thistle to sell up and move to Broadwood. To the extent that the social engineering of the 50s and 60s still matters, Cumbernauld would be a better bet for Thistle than Clyde.

Spartans get a plum draw in the Scottish Cup only to run the risk of being thrown out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player in an earlier round. But why do the SFA need two weeks to make their decision?

Cumbernauld Thistle. Yep, it has a certain ring to it. After all Thistle don't play in Partick, so at least the new name would be more geographically accurate.

Care to elaborate? Was there an influx of people from Maryhill to Cumbernauld, more so than from wherever in town Clyde was originally based?

                                                Scottish Football 2011-2012 Season

Clyde's core support was mainly from the South side and Gorbals areas of Glasgow, when these areas were demolished the majority of the population moved further south to the East Kilbride new town, that's why Clyde are now seeking a move to EK.

Thistle are a North Glasgow club, mainly Maryhill and surrounding areas, a fair proportion of the population moved out of Glasgow to the Cumbernauld new town in the 60s and70s.In saying that I worked in Cumbernauld for 11 years and I never met one solitary Thistle fan in all that time so I would doubt whether that core support is sill in the town.

Cheers Torres. So that's why Clyde should have moved to East Kilbride rather than Cumbernauld when they relocated, then.

At that moment in time definitely, I would imagine the Clyde support is very diluted now in EK and if the move does happen Clyde will lose any of the new support gained in Cumbernauld.
