In our family at least, in the 80s, before the ubiquity of BMWs and Audi's Ford Sierras were the car that was always driven by dickheads.

Doesn't rebus burn out his car for the insurance?

The mentalist drives a Citroën ds. Now that's a quirky car for noughties california. It's also an extremely beautiful car.

We spent quite a bit of tine trying to get one up to the Mendocino Coast for our wedding, but were unsuccessful. It might have been for the best, as the road and from the church might not have been kind to the suspension.

The British series gave Maigret a Citroen Traction Avant

Mr Thistle got there before me!

Hah, that's amazing. It looks like a really beautiful spot. You're a long way from home mind you!

I don't know if maigret had a particular car in the gambon version, but Atkinson Is completely obsessed with cars, so it was always going to be kind of fancy

We were living in San Francisco at the time and went up there several times a year, so it wasn't quite as much of a trek as it is now

So pretty. That wedding venue looks amazing. God only knows how much a similar arrangement would cost now.

Oooh! That's a pretty church. Reminds me of the Thorncrown Chapel a bit.

Yes, similar aesthetic, though with the added bit that you can see the ocean through the trees behind the altar.

Ours was the first Catholic wedding.

The church is shared with Episcopalians, of which there are more (though still not many).

                            The Diocese.was chuffed.

If she did drive it would be an early Morris Minor, no question.

Jessica Fletcher either rode a bicycle or was driven by someone else.

Annika drives a boat to work, although she may also have a Saab for land-based investigations; my memory's fading.

Ocean you say? This isn’t a bad wedding venue either:

Although nobody uses that beach because it’s a high croc-risk zone. Stick to the big one around the point.

                                            Lovely

                                            Strikingly similar named churches, too

The Mendocino Coast is not known for its beaches, though there are nice coves here and there

St. Mary’s was originally built a few hundred metres up the hill but then moved down to its present location https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Mar...olic%20Church.

Lord Peter Wimsey always drove Daimlers, one such being a double-6. It doesn't come up much since most shots are on sound stages, but he does get involved in a car chase in Murder Must Advertise and he and Bunter start The Nine Tailors driving through the fens and into a ditch, kicking off the plot.
