    Ulrich Seidl

Saw Ulrich Seidl's "Paradise: Love" last night. Worth a look (if you can bear to keep your eyes focused on the screen the entire time), but not really the sort of thing to make you want to burst into a spontaneous rendition of The Sun Has Got His Hat On.

That was the first Ulrich Seidl film I've seen where nobody left the cinema before the end. During "Import Export", people had to be ushered out of the place in tears. And during "Dog Days", one woman stood up and told us that she was ashamed of herself for paying money to watch the film and that we should all be ashamed of ourselves.

    I love Ulrich Seidl.

I saw Import/Export a few years back. Mental doesn't describe it.

I burned a copy for some work colleagues. To a man and woman they all detested it.

    Must check this one out.

Saw "Paradise: Faith", the second part of the "Paradise" trilogy, on Thursday.

It was even more gruesome than "Paradise: Love". A religious maniac, a wheelchair-bound husband whom she despises, mis-shapen people in shocking underwear and gratuitous group sex in the bushes.

      Highly recommended.
