    Michael Caine's worst film

I remember my parents being great fans of The Lotus Eaters, in which Hendrie starred in the early 70s, and my being really not. I wouldn't mind seeing that again with an adult eye.

He was brilliant in The Hill as well, of course.

Ian Hendry was married to Janet Munro who starred in the brilliant The Day The Earth Caught Fire, which featured Michael Caine in one of his first speaking roles.

      NALOPKT.

Jaws: The Revenge wasn't Jaws 3.

I can't remember - did any of the Ipswich Town players get speaking roles in Escape to Victory?

Well, Pele's still up for it. Thanks to his sponsors...

Ah, man. Yeah. Great film. Watched it on your recommendation too.

Don't remember seeing Maurice in it. Did he play a cockney sparrah

Didn't Russell Osman say the immortal 'we can win it' when trying to convince Michael not to escape at half time?

Ah, thanks. The others must have had Wark-on parts.

Pretty much, he plays the policeman who warns Pete "Think once, think twice, think BIKE!" Stenning to mind how he goes because the beatniks up in Chelsea are having a freaky water party.

I had Ipcress File on a disc given out free with a Sunday newspaper and watched it last night. Pretty poor storyline, really, but the feel of it is very interesting: bit grubby, tiny bit swinging sixties, fantastic skewed camera angles that make it all very disconcerting. Technophiles will have a ball with the quaintness of what must have been state-of-the-art at the time.

Oh, and Michael Caine is very good.

Shiner is a bunch of hackneyed old wank. You don't expect much when Caine is out of his comfort zone but this was a Lahndon film in which he managed to overact when he could have just stayed in character.

Not even the superb Martin Landau and Andy Serkis could breathe life into this painful lingering death of a film.

We could be the new Little and Large.

I actually saw Water in a theatre upon its release.

I'm too drunk and hungry to write anything else right now, but should I end up with the time...
