Caught the last ten minutes where a small mini-debate arose on whether Salvador Dali actually designed the Chupa-Chups label (which Baker refused to believe). I'm an idiot for missing stuff like this. I'll try not to miss it again.

Let this solve your DB 606 problems, so you can always catch up and even listen now.

Danny Baker is very good, but he needs a couple of hours to pack his programme into. I just don't know what the BBC thinks Spooney brings to the table as a phone-in host- maybe somebody can tell me? I tend to turn him off.

Baker & Kelly - back, back, back?

I don't normally listen to call-in podcasts because I am not interested in a series of calls about (Insert Team Name Here) being horrible followed by a series of calls about that team being great. But the review of Danny Baker's 606 show in the last issue of WSC caught my attention. I downloaded last week's show (November 4th) and enjoyed it. The BBC does not store previous shows (for copyright reasons, they say). Anyone on the board a digital packrat and willing to share some old MP3s of Baker's show that have piled up on your computer (zipping and uploading a folder to sharebee or another site)? Thanks.

Baker, Lovejoy and Spoony are a bit like a strange identity parade, where you have to pick the most happily entertaining from a line-up of dull non-entities. Baker shines like a beacon between these non-descripts and it would be a perfect world if they could hire hosts with all the sparky, plebian combativeness that Baker possesses (and none of the patronising disinterest that Lovejoy and Spoony exude towards teams outside the top flight).

Just to hear Baker's cheery dismissiveness of Tuesday Champions' League nights as he forbids inane, goal retrospectives from cloudy-brained doofusses who just want everyone to hear 'how brilliant they were tonight' is a blessing. Leave that to his fellow Nytol representatives.

Didn't someone have a link to a bootleg archive of all this current series? I have missed far too many.

The mediafire link for the first show isn't working anymore. Hopefully CTT still has that MP3 and others. Take care.

Basically, I've got fucking loads of B&K on my server.

Let me know what you want specifically and I'll make an effort to stick it somewhere.

I'm not spending all my time uploading it all though - I've just installed Pro Evo 2009 and will be spending any spare moments I have playing that online, so need the bandwidth.

I would be interested in the Baker-Kelly podcasts, but am open to anything (other folks on the board might have stronger preferences). Also, I would be willing to help upload files for others to access by (A) sending you some blank DVDs and postage costs or (B) trading 1 DVD (see my site for my DVD collection) for each DVD of mp3 files (and again, I would upload zipped folders to sharebee that contain the MP3 files so folks can use the dowloader of their choice). If either works for you, send me a PM with your address and what you'd like to do.

I am also willing to help organize an exchange tree (i.e., a DVD starts with someone who copies for someone else, who copies for someone else, etc.) if folks don't want to mess with download times. Take care.

EDIT: Added the exchange tree bit.

I'm not interested in DVD trades or anything.

I'll set up an anonymous ftp login to that folder on my server. It will be timed so it is only accessible between 8am and 5pm.

                            How's that sound?

Excellent. I'll kick this off next week then as I'm in the Lake District all this weekend.

When I've sorted it, I'll PM anyone who wants access. I recommend getting a decent FTP client such as Filezilla, although you can do it from Windows.
