Michal Bilek of Czechoslovakia tried one against the USA in Florence at Italia 90. Czechoslovakia were 4-1 up at the time, and Bilek (who had scored another penalty earlier on) probably had heady thoughts of Antonin Panenka in Belgrade racing through his mind. Tony Meola stood his ground, caught it without thinking, and gave Bilek an earful as the latter trudged away in embarrassment.
