I don't really get how "Downing quarter pounder with trimmings" gets us to "ound"
Quite often I've seen 'quarter' as an indicator of N, E, S or W. It's downing, i.e. removing, a quarter (=E) from 'pounder' and then losing the outer bits ('with trimmings').
I accept it's arguable whether 'with trimmings' should mean that it keeps the outer bits; the surface reading fitted better with taking it in the opposite sense.
