Gibraltar are going to leapfrog Andorra in the micronation table after a brilliant win away in Armenia. San Marino the only micro team yet to pick up a point. Still another round of fixtures for everyone in this international break.

Armenia completely dominated the match (70+ percent possession), but couldn't finish to save their lives. Gibraltar's penalty wasn't their only chance, but their XG must have been quite low.

            After 3 games each

            Liechtenstein 3 pts:GD= -2
            Faroes 3 pts:GD= -3
            Gibraltar 3 pts: GD= -3
            Andorra 2 pts:GD= -3
            San Marino 0 pts:GD= -10

All to play for now, especially as Gibraltar and Liechtenstein play each other next so are both in a good position to pick up points. San Marino really likely to end up being the undisputed worst team in Europe.

Into the 4th round of games and Faroes got a draw yesterday against Kosovo to go temporarily top of the OTF unofficial micronation league (OTFUML from now on).

Andorra's form has really gone to pot. Beaten 4-0 today by Kazakhstan.

Gibraltar now lead the OTFUML, having recorded their first 2 international wins in quick succession. Faroes the only other team to pick up points in round 3 and 4.

                    Table after 4 games
                    Gibraltar 6 pts: GD = -2
                    Faroes 4 pts: GD = -3
                    Liechtenstein 3 pts: GD =-3
                    Andorra 2 pts: GD = -7
                    San Marino 0 pts: GD = -13

San Marino, the elder statesmen of the micronations, are really trailing the competition now.

If Gibraltar do win the OTFUML for the Nations League it will be quite an impressive surge to the to. Admittedly it's only 6 games in a short timespan, but even so...

I've gone through and done final tables for the OTFUML in qualifying campaigns dating back to Euro 2000. It's basically Liechtenstein and Faroes duking it out for top spot in that time. San Marino and Andorra have both been league runners up very occasionally.

Yeah it's funny looking back at those old group results. I watched a lot of Wales' campaigns in the early-mid naughties and it brought back painful memories.

On a couple of those I've noted some teams played more games than others. Although once San Marino managed to get a higher negative goal difference playing 2 fewer games!

Yes, and that sole "runner's-up" spot in the WC 2002 qualifying came with a grand total of 1pt and -27 GD, thanks to both Liechtenstein and Andorra bagging 0 points!

Fantastic work there PT, top statting.

At half time Gibraltar and Liechtenstein were both drawing at home but both ended up losing. Gibraltar shipped 5 in the second half and lost 6-2.

So Andorra are the only micronation to avoid defeat in this round of matched after Faroes lost today. Everyone gets another go in the next couple of days. Can Gibraltar become the inaugural OTFUML winners for the Nations League?

San Marino lost their final game on the Nations League and will finish bottom of the OTFUML with zero points and a GD of -17.

Andorra and Liechtenstein both earned points last night taking them both up to 4 points. Gibraltar lost their final Nations League game 4-0.

Faroes got a draw in their final game meaning despite a collapse in form, Gibraltar won the OTFUML for the Nations League.

                                        After 6 games
                                        Gibraltar 6 pts; GD = -10
                                        Faroes 5 pts; GD = -5
                                        Liechtenstein 4 pts; GD = -5
                                        Andorra 4 pts; GD = -7
                                        San Marino 0 pts; GD = -16

Gibraltar's triumph came with a terrible goal difference but two wins in succession are ultimately what mattered. Andorra only lost twice so were the best at avoiding defeat, while Faroes finished third in their group, the only micronation to finish above a nation that wasn't also a micronation.

The total points haul of 23 for all of them shows how they've benefited from being in the D division. The previous biggest combined total in any kind of qualifying campaign was 14, over a lot more matches in total. (And that 23 wasn't earned over 30 games as two of the games were Liechtenstein and Gibraltar playing each other.)

On to the actual qualifying groups next. Let's see who can carry their Nations League form with them.

Hello. I'm not sure if anyone wants this thread reanimated. But here it is anyway.

Back in March we had the first round of qualifiers for Euro 2020. Most teams played two games with the exception of Gibraltar who lead the 2020 quals by virtue of only losing 1 game instead of 2 so having the minimum negative goal difference.

                                            Current Micronation Table

                                            Gibraltar (p1) pts = 0; gd= -1
                                            Faroe Islands (p2) pts = 0; gd= -4
                                            Andorra (p2) pts = 0; gd= -5
                                            San Marino (p2) pts = 0; gd= -7
                                            Liechtenstein (p2) pts = 0; gd= -8
