The perception of Liverpool last year is also coloured by that European run and all those big scoring wins at Anfield. They scored 40 goals in 12 games to reach the final. A lot of the league games in between those nights were much dourer affairs as TAB points out.

yeah, but 3 or more goals in 17 games is still an awful lot

Well, 7 points off Chelsea, Liverpool and City ( all of whom are playing better than Utd) and 5 points away from Spurs and Arsenal.

And the only really tough game they had so far against a fellow top 6 competitor was Spurs at old Trafford, which they lost.

They COULD turn it around but its not looking massively likely.

He only got one last season. Surprised me slightly.

Chelsea v Man U went to form first half. Only one side looks like a team.

Good finish from Martial to level things up.

What happened to the defender prone in the box? We didn't get a replay that showed it

The Sky clock seems to have broken, too.

                  (Edit: Back now.)

It was Alonso who was down, didn't see what happened though.

                            That escalated quickly.

One of the Chelsea coaching staff or subs ran past Mourinho (twice) taunting him and the second time he lost it

Then Jose walks off the pitch holding three fingers up at the crowd.

There's been a fair amount of "objectionable prick" behaviour today from both sides, I think it's fair to say.

Come on you useless fuckers, kick his fucking head in. He's only three feet tall and can't swing a punch in those built up shoes.

Mayhem at the end! Jose's timewasting antics with all the needless fannying about with substitutions cost them in the end - the equalizer came in the 96th minute.

                                          Jesus, how unlucky are Huddersfield?

Huddersfield definitely deserved something out of that game. But for the width of a post and some profligate finishing, they would have had it too. Very lacklustre from Liverpool.

Watching it tonight I'm particularly struck by how shit the titles are.

Yeah, when people say the top sides need to be able to win ugly, they don't mean every game.

It's an improvement on not winning ugly though.

Gordon is such a wanker, when he has half an ounce of gloat, available.
