You think that's weird? I discovered today that you can't buy a chevrolet in the UK. You have to order one especially.

Chevrolet is GM, but GM sold Vauxhall (and Opel) to Peugeot last year.

Opel were huge in the 90's. How did GM mess it up so badly?

GM wants to make high-margin SUVs and trucks in developed countries and cheaper, simpler, smaller cars in developing countries. It also much prefers not having to deal with unions, let alone workers’ councils.

Opel didn’t fit into any of that vision of the company.

Well that might be why they sold it, but why did they make such a hames of things from about 2000 on? Opel used to be a big deal in Ireland. Their name is slathered all over Jack Charlton's Ireland. You used to see a lot of opel Kadetts and Vectras

Heh I don't see that as being part of it. Opel were just another brand on a par with volkswagen, toyota, nissan or Ford. And then gradually they disappeared.

Do you still get Vauxhalls in RoI? I ask as Opels used to be sold alongside Vauxhalls in the UK until about the mid-90s, when someone clearly decided to stop selling Opels here as the Vauxhalls were by that point just rebadged Opels anyway.

There were some nice Opels before they were all the same as Vauxhalls. The Mk. 1 Manta springs to mind.

He does both things in the same game, it's whether or not he gets punished that varies from game to game. what changes from season to season is whether or not the other 10 players can cover for him sufficiently over time.
