    Movies you will not watch

    For whatever reason.

I always thought The Matrix was an entertaining and technically impressive bit of sci-fi hokum, but I'm not going to sully it by watching parts two and three.

In the same vein, Blues Brothers 2000. Unfortunately I did watch all three Star Wars prequels.

I've never watched any of the recent super heroes films and have no desire to,I also haven't watched any Star wars prequels since the first one

Anything with Meryl Streep in it.

I'm about to watch Blues Brothers 2000, as it's the next movie for How Did This Get Made. I'm rather trepidatious.

I refuse to watch any of the Transformers movies having suffered through half of the first one.

Having been made to watch the first Harry Potter film, I will happily never go and see another.

Anything that's hyped, which rules me out of 95% of films released these days. Inevitably rubbish. That said, I do realise that they are not made for my benefit, so it's quite easy to let that aspect of life pass me by without any ado.

I'll only watch movies with my kids now. But not Star Wars, I'd just ruin it for them by moaning throughout. They are not interested in Harry Potter, so that's not a bridge I have to cross.

The Matrix was the final straw for me, I think. What a load of complete drivel.

Mine aren't, either. I was dragged to see that nonsense by the Talkback bunch, with whom I was working in 2001.

              (I could've said 'no', obviously.)

Might want to avoid Universal Orlando entirely then, Jah.

I watched Get Out up until the deer died and decided that was enough.

                  I also check:

Which is why I gave up on A Very English Scandal. I read that, in the real story, a dog gets shot. Nope.

I can imagine. I did take my daughters on that Harry Potter ride at Universal LA, however.

It made me feel nauseous for different reasons.

I'm guessing that you didn't last long with Bambi, then...

Any of the Lord of the Rings stuff.

Any Star Wars prequels after the first one.

I didn't intend to watch any new-generation superhero stuff, but in the end got caught up by all the excitement about some of them (I was right, though, they're not for me) - I won't watch any superhero stuff where multiple superheroes who appear unrelated suddenly converge together.

I'd love to never watch anything with Meryl Streep in, but unfortunately the missus doesn't hold my opinion of her.

That Thatcher film. The one about the stuttering king. Probably won't watch the recent Churchill film. The human centipede and other torture porn "horror" titles.

                          - Blade Runner
                          - Anything else with spaceships in it
                          - Anything with goblins in it
                          - Any Harry Potter film (like Jah Womble, I was forced to watch the first one)

If you read the thread title in a stereotypical 'screen-Nazi' voice, it sounds decidedly sinister.

Mind you, I guess anything would.

Anything with Seth Rogen as a main character. If he's in it to get murdered in the first scene, I might.
Anything with Dwayne The Rock Johnson. I can't believe he's the best paid actor in the world. He's not even acting.
                              Blair Witch Project
                              T2 Trainspotting

A bloke I vaguely know runs an English language school here. His company slogan is "We have ways of making you talk!"

It goes over the head of most people who sign up there, but it makes me smile every time I see it.

Oh, yeah, those too for me. Though strangely enough I'm a big fan of things like Takashi Miike and other gory Japanese/Korean stuff, and I'm not sure there's a principled distinction there other than those are good and Saw/THC/Hostel are not.

I have genuinely watched all the Saw films bar Jigsaw, all The Human Centipede films, except the last one, and all three Hostel films.

Like elguapo, none of the latest comic book stuff, unless it's Ryan Reynolds (and I saw Antman on a plane).

None of the new Star Treks.

I haven't felt the urge to go to the cinema in ages. I fancied Oceans 8 (because Rihanna), but I couldn't be arsed.

Anything that could be described as "gritty" or "downbeat".
The world's depressing enough as it is; give me a laugh, give me escapism.

                                          Trainspotting.
                                          Reservoir Dogs.
                                          Pulp Fiction.
                                          The Matrix.
Those last few Star Wars films.
Any James Bond for the last twenty years or so.

Everybody was going on about them, so I wasn't going to follow the crowd...

And I can't be bothered now.

Any superhero movie. Though I'll get around to Deadpool 2 at some point.
Any horror. Double so for torture porn. Triple so for zombies.
Any Harry Potter. Not even read a page of the books.
Anything that is 3 hours long.
                                            Musicals. Fuck off.
I'll never say never with latest Star Wars, because I might if one of them is on the telly and I can't be bothered to pick up the remote.
The new Star Treks. Or indeed the old Star Treks.
Anything containing the following people: Seth Rogan, Vince Vaughan, Ben Stiller, Seth McFarlane
                                            Any Transformers film.

(Frankly, it would be shorter to list what I would watch.)
