Watched Bala against Tre Fiori at Rhyl this evening. Looked likely to finish goalless for most of the evening before Bala scored what turned out to be the only goal with about fifteen minutes left. They had a few chances late on to extend their lead, but had left themselves too much to do after the first leg. Tre Fiori celebrated as if they'd won the whole competition when the final whistle went; admittedly this is the first European tie that they have won.

Wales's other representatives, Cefn Druids, were also knocked out as they lost 1-0 to Trakai in Lithuania, 2-1 on aggregate.

It's the first European tie ever won by a club from San Marino

Does this mean Welsh clubs have to play an extra prelim round next season?

No - they already came in at the earliest round. Connah’s Quay are still to play, they come in at the first qualifying round stage.

Well done to Tre Fiori. La Fiorita were unlucky to go out 1-0 to Linfield last term

Apart from Dundalk it wasn't a great week for league of Ireland clubs in Europe, though the draw didn't favour any of them.
Shamrock Rovers started strong but couldn't make pressure tell and conceded a goal in the 73rd minute to lose 0.1 at home to AOL Stockholm.
Derry city are regular European qualifiers but always seem to bring their worst form into these games, nothing changed as they were well beaten 0.2 at home to Dynamo Minsk though charging home fans an eye watering Ł25 didn't help the athmosphere.
Finally Cork city, who got the most difficult draw possible in the Champions league in Legia Warsaw, again from reports they bossed possession but the only goal went to the visitors
All in all not the best week for the local sides

Am I reading it correctly that the parachuting of defeated CL minnows into the EL quallies means that, for example, TNS could get knocked out of both competitions by the same team (Shkendija)?

It's gone back to how it used to be for a decade ago, the Welsh Cup used to go in a round after the clubs that qualified via the league.

They won the double last year over frequent Champions League participant Maribor.

Crusaders might benefit from suspensions, as Olimpia picked up red cards in both legs of the tie against Qarabag.

Terrific, in the unlikely event we manage to beat Burnley our "reward" for taking their seeding would be a trip to Istanbul to play Başakşehir.
2nd= in last seasons Süper Lig, level with Fenerbahce, only 3 points behind Galatasaray, and 3 ahead of Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
The draw appears to have been particularly cruel to us this year.

Looking forward to Thursday all the same.

Burnley have four players out already. Tom Heaton joining Ashley Barnes, Steven Defour on the treatment table and Robbie Brady deemed not yet fit to play.

Very jealous of those Clarets making the trip.

Small mercies I know, but at least you've avoided several hours queueing to get round the M6 closure.

I can't believe the game isn't on telly, yet Osijek v Rangers is on Premier Sports.

Mackay-Steven gives Aberdeen the lead from the spot. Put it past Anders Lindegaard, who replaced the injured Nick Pope a few minutes earlier.
