    Brahms

Clarinet Quintet in B-minor is a gem, especially the Adagio - Piu lento (from 13:00):

Is he perhaps under-rated? I'd rather hear this than anything by Wagner or Mahler, say.

Sorry, but every time I hear of Brahms I think of Basil Fawlty shouting "racket? It's Brahms! Brahms 3rd racket!"

I’m a fan. The string sextet no.1, featured in the Louis Malle film Les Amants is a favourite.

I'd definitely take Brahms side in the aesthetic dispute with Wagner. I've never quite got Wagner.

Brahms' Piano Quintet in F Minor and the German Requiem on the other hand are pieces of music I'm hugely fond of.
