Sure, except he's already on loan to us — Geoff Cameron from Stoke.

The three loans Maclaren brought in: Cameron, Hemed, and Nhaki Wells have all made a massive difference, as has the short-term purchase of Angel Rangel. Without them we'd most likely be floundering around in the bottom third of the table again.

Rangers have certainly worked the loan market well.

In the last two years, Brentford have made the decision not to use loan players, partly due to the outrageous fees Premier League clubs are charging and partly to clear a route to the first team for B team players. If our current slump continues, it is a policy that may need to be reconsidered in January.

Our fans weren't happy with the loans to begin with for similar reasons. That's changed. Many, but not all, of the kids have been sent out on loan to get game time, and it seems we waited until the very last minute in the loan window to bring players in so didn't pay fees.

Looks like we gifted you your first equaliser on Tuesday. We've got to start winning rather than drawing...

Yeah we had a dreadful first ten minutes. But your keeper pulled off three tremendous saves late on to save a point.

Another pleasing result, although when our better players are fit and firing, it's patently clear that we're capable of better things, despite the manager being a clueless bumblecunt.

Our worst display since early season. What happened to the defence that kept six clean sheets in seven matches? Vanished like an early frost. They've shipped two early goals in the last two games, so Joel Lynch turns into a Bruce Lee movie assassin and Angel Rangel starts channeling David Beckham. Sort 'em out Schteve!

Is there any hope for my beloved Ipswich Town or should I already be looking up who we'll be playing in League One next season?

I think you know the answer really.

None whatsoever. Well, no that's not true, there's the tiniest sliver. There always is until the maths says otherwise.

                      Realistically though, we're gone.

The Hurst pick and lack of investment in the team was an utter disaster. It is extraordinary that anyone thought signing a manager with no championship experience, then loading the squad with players with no championship experience was a recipe for anything but a total clusterfuck. That anyone involved in the process still has a job says it all.

The only tiny possibilty is getting a heap of players in January, but the situation might well be beyond redemption by then.

My prediction of a QPR-style thrashing could have been fulfilled by half-time but West Brom we’re incapable of finishing properly. Much improved in the second half. Showed real guts and determination and there’s nothing better than an injury time equaliser.

I’m hoping this may prove to be a turning point.

Say what you like about the teams, but it's undeniable that Ipswich's colours lend themselves to less hideous looking merchandise and less jarring seasonal photographs compared to Norwich. With an honourable exception for the City elf, which works quite nicely.

West Brom have equalised in injury time against Villa with an obvious handball that has somehow been allowed to stand.

The hand of Rod, no less. Unlike maradona, Rodriguez admitted that it hit his hand in an interview straight after the game.

Didn't see the game tonight but i was at the hawthorns for the Brentford game on Monday night. Like cantaglo said, our inability to finish cost us dearly. Still, unbeaten in five if you take the glass half full viewpoint

West Brom’s goal against Brentford would also have been disallowed by VAR.

Sheffield united 1 west brom 2. What a great result! Didn't see it but a friend texted to say we were awful in the first half then brilliant in the second. Still a few points behind Norwich and Leeds though, having played one more game than them. Surely one of them will go on a bad run soon?

Really pleased for Darren Moore, he was sound at Derby during uncertain times.

You've blamed the players, you've blamed the fans, you've blamed the press, you told an untruth about past performance in yesterday's press conference. You've got an inept chairman, but seriously, you've managed a glittering five points out of a potential thirty, fuck off out of our club.

5 points out of 30? Luxury.

Our new Head Coach has managed 4 out of 30. Yesterday at Hull we were again 2 goals down within 20 minutes and despite 68% possession could have played till midnight and not scored. However I did achieve a personal record-low body temperature at a football match.

Next week it's Bolton at home, the only team with a worse recent record than either us or Wednesday. Can't see us winning it.

Three of our points were against Bolton, who somehow contrived to be even worse than us. They seem a right basket case at present, eight points from eighteen games, wages being paid late again, banning the local newspaper reporter for reporting that, erm, wages had been paid late again. That storming start they made is the only reason they've not been cut adrift with Ipswich.

Wednesday have got a fans forum this week, which should be lively to say the least. Demand for this event was such that they shifted it from the ground to the Octagon Centre at the university, which has a capacity of a thousand. Whether you can host a meaningful forum with this many people or if it will just descend into chaos remains to be seen. Jos has managed to make himself so unpopular that even the Wednesdayite supporters group has been critical of him, and they never dare say anything negative. Chansiri could take a shit in the centre circle and they'd say that it shows his level of commitment to the club.

Yes, the atmosphere at Griffin Park will turn poisonous if we fail to beat them next week.

The club isn’t known for making kneejerk reactions (and rightly backed Dean Smith during his winless runs) but I can’t help but think they’ve made a big mistake this time. Thomas Frank is a nice guy and I’d love to be proved wrong but, even ignoring the results, the drop-off in performance levels has been so dramatic that something has to be done.

As previously thought, it looks like the proposed takeover is off, so it looks like we'll be entering another transfer window with zero investment in the squad and the likelihood of one or more of our few saleable assets heading elsewhere. Even though recent results have been reasonable, we're a couple of injuries off facing real problems in certain areas of the pitch.

Well, so far we've lost senior player after senior player to lengthy injuries and replaced them with a seemingly endless supply of lads barely out of school and we're still top. Samu Saiz has just succumbed to homesickness and returned on loan to Getafe, which I guess is a new one.

The figures here are pretty damning. The players also need to take a long, hard look at themselves but, as nice a bloke as he appears to be, Frank’s position is surely untenable.
