Plays down either wing and scores plenty of goals. Has done well for NI U-21 so I feel he'll fit in

      a) should read "is wrongly perceived as blowing the CL final with a couple of howlers". How he should be seen is as a player with an injury that severely impacted on his ability to perform, to the point where he shouldn't have been on the pitch at the time. Anyone who blames Karius for those goals would be hypocritical if they didn't extend the same complete lack of human compassion to the next player who pulls up with a hamstring injury and has someone sprint away from him and score as a result. The two situations are analogous.

Jamie Mackie's signed with Oxford United.

(There was a time here when that would've been warranted a thread on it's own, but those days are long gone.)

The concussion was so bad it lasted until the preseason game v Tranmere the other day, Janik.

Quite possible, you know. Is he being up front with Liverpool about continued symptoms? Only the man himself knows that. This is an injury that varies in its time for a full recovery from weeks to months to potentially never. But never days, as Football often believes. Or it could be that in the pre-season game Karius was fine and made an actual run-of-the-mill mistake in spilling a shot, rather than was hampered by injury as we now can reasonably conclude happened in Kiev.
In fact the BBC website has an interview today with an athlete who is fronting up about such a stalled recovery situation.

Thanks Dunc. Any Jamie Mackie feedback Amor?-

Karius' concussion was even affecting him 18 months before it happened, too.

The Tranmere error was a repeat of this one from 2016, too:

Good to see financial fair play is alive and well in the Conference.

Kev, another collection of Footballers making bloopers. It happens to them all.

Lets not conflate textbook symptoms of concussion, spatial confusion and lack of accurate motor control, from a player who was subsequently found to have that with a mistake. Karius wasn't responsible for what happened in Kiev.

If the rumoured (locally) £375K fee is accurate, then that represents a decent bit of business for The Dons for a 30 year-old.
Rooney's nowhere near as prolific as he was a couple of seasons ago, and although if he gets a half-chance in front of goal or a free pop from 12 yards, more often than not it's in the back of the net, his contribution outside the penalty area is now virtually zero.

Apparently his wages have gone up 150% by virtue of his move to Salford, which I find staggering. We're only too well aware of the financial disparity between the Scottish & English leagues, but Aberdeen have probably the 3rd or 4th highest wage bill in Scotland on an average crowd of 15.5K, so if Salford can pay half as much again (£6K) on crowds of less than 2K I don't see how we'll be able to compete for players if money is the motivation.

Not from Oxford, but QPR fans are really happy for him. He was always an enormously popular player, if limited skill-wise, but a regular Championship slot is a bit beyond him now. Best quote. Warnock — who brought him to QPR — asked why he didn't just go down after bustling his way through trips and hacks in the area. "I'm sorry boss. I don't know how to do that." If he stays healthy he'll do well at Oxford.

I was certainly hoping Mackie might return to his first club Wimbledon.

Fingers crossed that Danny Ward to Leicester actually happens - if the rumoured £12m fee is anywhere near the mark, we'll get about a million quid.

Richarlison to Everton for £50m apparently.

Just completed today - apparently he hasn't scored or provided an assist since December.

Lincoln have completed the season long loan signings of Scott Wharton from Blackburn, and Shay McCartan from Bradford. Superb to have Wharton back, suspect he'll play alongside Waterfall at centre back, allowing Bostwick to play CM. McCartan signed before the friendly against Boston last night and scored (supposedly a nice goal too). Got a nice competitive squad now, with plenty of attacking options.

There's a footballer whose name is Waterfall?

He’s making quite a big splash. Tends to go down very easily though.

Would have been good to see him in a team with Mark Rivers and the Lakes (Mike and Paul).

Looks like a chunk of the TV money has landed in NUFC's account, as they look set to double their spending for the window thus far having agreed to splurge £3.5m on Fabian Schär. Thank you Mr. Ashley, please Sir can I have some more?

Wolves reportedly want Yerry Mina on loan, which would be something of a coup for them.
